I have an incredible group of students…. I can tell already!
We had a great first 1/2 day and I cannot wait to spend some more time with them to get to know them. I just had to show a couple of pictures. I will post more soon…
I will probably brag about them all year long!

Woo Hoo – Time for School!
By now you have seen the class list and you know that you are one of students that will be “living” in room 12 this year.
I cannot express to you how SO excited I am to have you as a part of our new team.
You will becoming a new “team” with your other classmates, so look forward to seeing old friends and getting to know some new friends. Oh, and we will do some learning too!

4th Grade DVD
Hello Everyone!
I hope you are enjoying your summer. It is hard to believe that it is August! WOW!
Just wanted to give you an update on the 4th grade DVD. They are almost finished and just need some final touches. As soon as they are complete, we will pack them up and send them your way.

Summer Time!!
I am having a hard time believing that it is July 11 already! YIKES! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and relaxing. I know that the Smits Family is really enjoying our time together.
I wanted to pass along a few of websites that I saw on another blog that some of you may be interested in. The first one is a WONDERFUL reading website. It gives book title ideas, and some great write ups on books as well. The second is a website that puts a focus on basic facts in math, but with games. The last is an interesting website that has “math videos”. Some of your children may be interested in these or you may want to use them when the school year kicks in to full gear! Enjoy!
One last thing that you may notice is our “Countdown to School”… A dear friend of mine had this widget on her blog and I just had to have it too! Check in often…it will keep track for us! Until then, enjoy!!!

School’s Out – For the Summer!
I am happy and sad to report that our 2008-2009 school year has come to an end… We had a fabulous year and I will miss my WONDERFUL fourth graders. We celebrated our last day by having an “Aloha Day”. Aloha means hello, goodbye, and I love you… What more can I say? Happy Summer!

4th Grade Graduation
They did it! WOW! What a wonderful year we have had. These fourth graders are the best and we will miss them. We had our graduation ceremony yesterday and you just have to see them in action. We are proud, proud, proud! There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd when we showed our “Three Words” reflection video. I will post that soon. Enjoy your summer and don’t forget to visit!

What About Mackinac?
We had a blast on Mackinac Island and we learned SO much! We had amazing chaperones and the students were SO well behaved. The only thing that didn’t cooperate too much was the weather, but we didn’t let that get us down! Thanks to everyone that made this trip so wonderful.
