The Smitizen News…

Today was a special day and we celebrated it here at Holmes School. The students wore red, white, and blue. We had a special assembly in which we sang some patriotic songs, heard some third graders read some of their patriotic writing pieces, and watched Bruce Springsteen sing at one of the festivities in Washington. The fourth graders also watched the Inauguration of our new Vice President, Joe Biden and new President, Barack Obama. It was a great patriotic day. Ask your child to share the oath that our new President took today. They have it, read it, and studied some of the key words within the oath. A big thank you goes to Bella for sharing her grandparents special invitation to the Inauguration and to Grace and her grandma for baking us some YUMMY patriotic cookies.
