What a Day!
We were so busy today and it was fabulous! We had some special visitors here at Holmes School and we wrapped up the day with a pizza party!
We learned all about the town of Fayette in the Upper Peninsula. In 1880 it was “the” place for iron ore smelting. The kids were transported back in a special time machine to the year 1880 to see what life was like as a miner. They learned about all the types of people that were there, their customs, and sang some great songs too! Check it out!
In the afternoon, Mrs. Buchanan came to visit us with a rock and minerals of Michigan presentation. We learned about where certain minerals come from and what products that are used to make. We learned so much.
Then… At the end of the day we got to enjoy our Marcos Pizza party. We were the class that won Marcos Pizza Night in October. We enjoyed our pizza and even got to watch a little bit of a movie. It was GREAT!
