Exciting Times at Standard Sand

We went on an incredible field trip yesterday. Not only did the kids come back to school wearing cool caps, fancy safety goggles, and carrying gold and gems, but they learned so much about the uses of sand and how it is mined. They also had an opportunity to plant marram grass, get into a front loader, pan for gold, learn about the birds that are housed there, and see the process sand goes through to get into your toothpaste and other uses… It was fascinating!

A big thanks to all the parent drivers. We appreciate you so much!

  • hey Mrs.Smits that field trip was really fun!Some people got prikers but i was lucky because i didnt get any!I was even wearing copreas!The Jems and the gold is awsome i gave a piece of gold to my friend Kayla she is my best,best,best friend i new since 1st grade . well any way see u on monday!
