We Are Writers!

We started our Lucy Calkins writing program this week and we have spent quite a bit of time talking about how many ideas we really have to write about. We have been generating ideas and then spending some time just writing “small moment” or “seed” stories. We also took some time to go on a walk. We talked about how good writers just observe. We would stop, look, listen and use all of our senses to help us in our writing. WOW! Everyone in Room 12 is a WRITER! Please take the time to talk to your child about what kinds of things they are writing about… Stay tuned…I am going to post pictures of their incredibly creative decorated composition notebooks!
